Lovely double album (a first!) by MV & EE joined by The Bummer Road (which includes Samara Lubelski, Tim Barnes and even Nemo Birdstrup, the man behind the Time-Lag Records label which released the album). This is one of the very rare occasions where MV & EE don't first release their music on their own Child Of Microtones label. Not since Lunar Blues has the duo let their folk influences roam so free. You can hear the two sing their heart out on most of these tracks. There are plenty of psyched-out tunes on here as well; The Joyous Within sounds like something Valentine could have included on his early Ragantula album! Anyone who is new to MV+EE should definitely check this one out, not only because there are actually a thousand copies of the CD and LP versions (and not the usual 99), but also because it paints such a large picture of what this duo is all about.
