I believe this is the first time it takes so long between two My Cat Is An Alien releases. Those many side-projects seem to have taken up a lot of time away from the brothers' main project (which is a fine thing for my wallet). I can't say that much has changed in their sound since well, the last fifteen albums, but I'm not complaining, this is the sound which made me fall in love with the duo's music in the first place. Throughout these three untitled tracks, the Opalios once again bring us along on their UFO to explore distant galaxies and destroy neighboring planets along the way. The first track starts off with a shimmering drone which builds up with tinkling bells and odd squeaks and buzzes before finally imploding into a mass of sick noises and deranged vocals. The second track sounds like an extended version of the first, alternating between quiet and loud passages with Nitsch-like glee while the last track is basically track one revisited! |
