F.A. Nettelbeck

National Flag

Nettelbeck is a poet/writer obviously in love with the works of William S. Burroughs. His oeuvre can often be very raw and difficult but Nettelbeck has done his homework and retains the charm of the beatnicks. His choice of themes are often political and point out the unfairness and/or seedy sides of mankind, it's suffering and misery. All delivered in the most misanthropic and nihilistic way. The background music is very experimental and fits the wordplay wonderfully (recorders are sometimes used to actually create cut-up effects à la Burroughs. I would never have heard of this artist had his albums not be released on Sunburned Hand Of The Man's Manhand label. You can hear Nettelbeck's influence on the group's lyrics on albums like A Manhunt In D. A very fascinating individual. Unfortunately, there is not much information about him on the net.
