Anton Nikkilä

Active since the early eighties in many post-rock/noise-rock outfits like Swissair and Mietoherne, Anton Nikkilä has been an important albeit obscure figure in the whole finnish underground scene. In the nineties, Nikkilä switched to electronica. His post-punk aesthetic from the Swissair years flowed effortlessly into the new and thriving industrial/glitch scene which was booming out of Austria and Germany (Fennesz, Farmers Manual or anything on Mego or Mille Plateaux). Nikkilä is a frequent collaborator with his russian partner Alexei Borisov with whom he started the N&B Research Digest. Nikkilä is also behind Helsinki's experimental music and film festival: Avanto.
