Here is yet another winner by Omit. If you are new to the artist and would like an impressive intro to his work, you should definitely check out any of his 7" releases. I like to listen to Complacency/Dissipation as a distilled version of Boards Of Canada's Geogaddi if you were to take away all the beats and dynamics of that album and increase everything that made it spooky and esoteric. This is easily one of the most ambient releases by the artist and yet it's as disturbing as ever, if not more so. The opening Pathos (Seclusion) is a great example. Those scattered clattering noises, the thick and evil analog drone and broken electronics are particularly effective in creating an atmosphere of dread and fear. Soliciting Disposition is another similar tune which also adds fucked up duck calls to the equation. Easily one of Omit's most cinematic releases to date. It's a shame this one is so limited, hopefully one day they will be re-released in one format or another.
