Pharaoh Overlord
Yet another musical project from the people behind influential finnish rock band Circle and muddy drone-masters Doktor Kettu. Pharaoh Overlord is similar to Circles motorik brand of post-rock, their riffs are extremely minimal and, like chinese water torture, repeated ad nauseum until you are driven mad, but their sound is deeply rooted in stoner rock. Like Terry Riley playing Black Sabbath. If you can get past the difficult crust, their is plenty to enjoy hear. The group's metal instincts have slowly taken control of their sound on later albums (a path also followed by Circle).
