Often cited as the best Residents album, Duck Stab is actually two EPs in one. Indeed, this is a great place to start if you don't know The Residents. If you don't like this, chances are you won't like any of it. Practically every song here is a classic, from the creepy Sinister Exaggerator, to the unnerving Lizard Lady to Hello Skinny, probably The Residents' most famous song. Duck Stab is basically a collection of creepy pop songs, or the equivalent of commercial music as heard through the ears of someone who has been lobotomized a few times too many. Totally twisted, sometimes gloomy, but always fun and humorous. How could "We care for plants and we care for you!" over some low-end acid synth notes not be funny!?. Birthday Boy is my personal favorite as I find it completely traumatizing and amusing at the same time! It evokes conflicting feelings in my brain! Help me!
