The first part in a never-completed trilogy about the fictional Moles and Chubbs. The Chubbs look friendly but endorse slave labor, the Moles are scary looking types who are being exploited by the Chubbs; a revolution ensues. It's all about the Industrial Revolution, working conditions and slavery using these characters as metaphors. Whether you find it pretentious or not doesn't affect the fact that the music on this album is quite good. Very experimental in parts, but very touching in others. The Residents just have a way with melody and drama to make it all work. Definitely the best of all releases that concern The Mole Trilogy. The Ultimate Disaster is a great track whether you listen to it in it's entirety or for it's individual parts. "No more work, please leave, that's all we need, go away!"
