Rubby Boys
One of many side-projects associated in one way or another to the Sunburned Hand Of The Man collective. A bit like the Shit-Spangled Banner (pre-Sunburned version of the band), Rubby Boys have their roots in noise/punk rock. I hear an obvious influence by The Dead C in their sound: the thin, mosquito-guitar sound, the mumbled vocals, etc. I only found out about them when Eclipse Records described them in one of their mailing lists way back when they still were mainly a store. Can't say I'm a huge fan of Rubby Boys, but they are interesting to hear if only for their formative value.
