Slayer's uncontested masterpiece of mind-boggling speed and aggressiveness. Surprisingly, I've owned other albums by the group on tape before, but never this one. There is some serious ass-kicking being done throughout the ten original tracks (which clock in at approximately thirty minutes!). The guitar riffs are sometimes so fast it's hard to keep up. Even Araya seems to struggle with his lines at time, delivering them like a surgeon giving orders in a terrible crisis (Necrophobic), but he somehow always makes it through without a scratch... unlike the listener. Those insanely wild guitar solos being thrown back and forth between King and Hanneman like hot coal are sure to cause internal bleedings in the listener. There isn't a single miss on this album and no metal fan should be without it. This "expanded edition" comes with two bonus tracks, but only Aggressive Perfector is worth checking out. |
