This is the last Sonic Youth album I really paid attention to before slowly losing touch with their work. Not that I didn't like it, in fact some of my favorite tunes are on Experimental. It's tough to explain. Like two friends who haven't seen each other in a long time, you sort of lose contact, you hear less from them, enquire less and concentrate on other things. But for this album, I was still focused. The single Bull In The Heather was the first track I heard and it's an absolute classic if you ask me, the use of harmonics and delay is brilliant. My favorite tracks however are Starfield Road (the song has this cool psychedelic vibe), Tokyo Eye and Screaming Skull, the latter will have you sing along even though you don't know the words. Unfortunately, not every song is a winner. I'm not too fond of Skink and Bone for example, but in general, I consider this album to be Sonic Youth's last great classic.
