Spectre Folk
Spectre Folk is the moniker Pete Nolan (of GHQ, Magik Markers, Wooden Wand & The Vanishing Voice fame) uses for his solo projects. Borrowing a bit from all his main projects, these solo albums sound like the perfect balance of pure folk and mind numbing psychedelia. Rustic and spectral black and white images blend seamlessly with tapestry-like geometric shapes during open eye visuals. All brought to you in neat little lo-fi packaging. Some of Nolan's solo work even reminds me of MV + EE at their most primitive and grittiest. Fans of the psych folk scene simply must check this out. I wouldn't have heard this if it weren't for a lucky bonus that came along with a completely different order.
