Album Cover

This is probably common knowledge by now, but the title for this single was not originally My Red Hot Car. Just listen to the lyrics and figure it out by yourselves (but I doubt he wants to "fuck you with his red hot car"). Easily the most playful song from the Go Plastic album, My Red Hot Car is presented in two different versions on this single; the first, subtitled (Girl), is an extended and much peppier version than the album version which is also found here, shortened by a few seconds. The song is a fun listen, but I find that in pales in comparison with most of Squarepusher's early material. What makes this single release so exceptional however is the drastic contrast between the frisky nature of the title track and the incredibly forbidding vibe of the last two tracks. Hardcore Obelisk is a dark ambient tune which rivals with some of Thomas Köner's work. The single ends with another dark "hidden track" after a short three minute spazz-O-thon.
