Album Cover

Is it just me, or is the cover to Jetone's album Ultramarin openly inspired by this album's artwork (both of which were released on Force Inc)? Stavöstrand's fourth album is a minor masterpiece of minimal dub/glitch scene. Crackling, decorative noises adorn a steady four/four beat while minimal and faint bursts of sound provide the musical blueprint. Insert a dubby and vivid bassline the equation and you've got Reduce. The only unfortunate thing about this album is that due to the overwhelming number of glitch artists who have swarmed the market around the turn of the millennium, pioneering albums such as this have lost much of their initial impact. I was blown away by Reduce when it first came out, but today, although I can still appreciate the music, I find it has aged somewhat. Only the few beatless tracks (!/Sn12.2.Ai) still sound as fresh today as they did back then. Regardless, this still belongs in any true IDM fan's collection.
