Mikael Stavöstrand

The Clicks " Cuts scene within the IDM movement might have been short lived and intense, with hundreds of artists having a go at this particular sound (which involved minimal melodies, skipping CDs and all noises which sound like a glitch), but only a few names stood out and even fewer are still around today. Mikael Stavöstrand, from Stockholm Sweden, is one of those few. Using these dust-like noises, Stavöstrand managed to create whole new sound worlds based in either dub, house or even ambient. It's this diversity which makes him such an important personality. I thought this music would age badly, but almost ten years later (as of this writing) and I still find the artist's work quite fresh (and probably even more so today when one is not bombarded by twenty new glitch artists a week which was the rate back then).
