Volume three in the Switched On series is yet upon us and this time it's two album's worth. Unfortunately most of the material on both of these CDs is not all that great. It does include the rare Music For The Amorphous Body Study Center released three years earlier. Besides this, New Orthophony is another song which I enjoy quite a bit; Percolations is the strangest song I've ever heard from them. Interesting stuff, but by this point I had lost my obsession with the band and some of the music became redundant. The Drag City edition comes in a foldable cardboard cover which, no matter how nice it looks, is very impracticable. The CD's never hold in place, they move around, causing scratches. I sold my old copy to buy the Warp Records edition which comes in a simple double CD jewel case. Update: I recently had a change of heart after finding a prisitne copy of the Drag City edition (my Warp copy had been damaged anyway). |
