Suicide

National Flag

Absolutely every single electro-punk band on this planet owes everything they do to New York City kings of electroclash Suicide; from Add N To (X) to Ladytron. Alan Vega and Martin Rev have single handedly created a whole new genre: just mix in the Ramones/Sex Pistols punk mentality and use keyboards. Their sound was raw, loud and extremely addictive. Their first two albums are absolute classics which should be included in everyone's music collection.

I don't really remember what made me listen to Suicide first, although I do believe emusic had something to do with it with their free downloads a few years back. That's where I first heard some of the songs from their first album. I have been listening to the songs regularly since then, but it took approximately a year before I decided to actually purchase one of their albums. As I've mentioned before, they belong in any serious collector's collection.
