For the longest time, I believed this record was a SHOTM side-project (the lack of info about it is astounding), but it has come to my attention that this is the first time John Moloney, Chad Cooper and Rob Thomas recorded together, making it basically the birth of the Sunburned legacy. Noisy as fuck is the only thing I can really say about this one. Gritty, hissing drones and noises accompanied by manipulated voice samples (often slowed down and sped up to give it this "sea-sick" effect). The best track on here is easily Hey, Why'd You Do That? for it's alarm buzzes and creepy schoolyard samples. The almost forty-minute-long The E.Q. Mind-Melting Bird sounds like Wolf Eyes on acid. A traumatizing experience which would make a perfect soundtrack to an unsuccessful (and messy) lobotomy. Play it loud for a friend and lose that friend. Dean Roberts is another culprit behind the noise. |
