After starting off with the exact same kind of spoken word intro as on No Magic Man, I thought I would be getting something similar; instead of getting some weird and heavy stoner album, you get a pretty funky psyche album similar to the earlier Jaybird and Wildanimal. There's definitely some funk back in this album even though it is watered down and further spread apart by a few strange numbers. Some themes reoccur in different forms throughout the record; The Hand Job, The Hand Shake, The Handout and The Hand Off for example are the aforementioned spoken word bits; Eyelash and Eyelid are like a long jam separated by one weird and dreamy tune (Cavity). Some of these tracks are just plain fucked as with Facelift with it's crying samples or the similar Gland Jive and it's constant laughing. The record is quite good but it sounds pretty primitive and thin; skin and bones aesthetics.
