Limited to only thirty-six copies (!?), Sopra L'Influsso is the 2006 DVD-R re-release of the VHS tape they released back in 2002 (it was very limited back then as well). What makes this new version even more interesting than the original is not only the fact it is now available on a much more convenient DVD, but also because it comes with the "soundtrack" to the film. The film itself is a bunch of homemade weirdness with extensive use of effects found on an MX-12 machine. Kind of amateurish in a fun way, like a cheaper version of Zappa's 200 Motels. The music however sounds like it is from the band's early period. The jams are funky and psychedelic. Tracks like The Biggest Bird In The World or Bar & Grill could easily have been on albums like Jaybird or Wildanimal. There are more experimental songs like Droolooselum to even things out. Too bad it's so limited. |
