Two CDs worth of the Girls at their most varied. You get to hear all their different sides here: the more traditional "world music" inflected tunes (Fourteen), the improvised rants (The Geography Of Swastika), twisted sing-songy folk tunes (Soft Fragile Eggshell Minds), jazzy numbers (Persistence Of Vision) and that's just a small glimpse of what's in here! Some might argue that it makes the album inconsistent, but then again, inconsistency is what Sun City Girls is all about! The album is however more of a showcase for Richard Bishop's rants which are practically present on every song, regardless of the background music (or noise). Not an easy listen, and, unless you find these surreal lyrics entertaining, not the most exciting record the Girls have released. Still fascinating however in a head-scratching kind of way.
