The opening title track really sounds like you are hearing some Hermann Nitsch recording, but things rapidly calm down as the band head off into a relaxed jam. Things slowly get weirder as the brass and clarinet make their way into the track, but it's not before fifteen minutes into the song that the track becomes wild again. From this point on the song alternates between tensed up moments and short relaxed breathing spaces. The other shorter tracks could easily have been a continuation of the title track as there is very little changes beside the songs' tempo; Sketch even sounds like a pretty standard track. The album is really not as "out there" as the title might have you think, only the reverb of the shorter tracks give it this otherworldly vibe (and well, Spiral Galaxy is a pretty psyched up number). Interesting, but not a favorite.
