An even earlier performance then the one on July 15, 1972 by The Taj-Mahal Travellers (sans Takehisa Kosugi), this one was done back in 1971 at the Moderna Museet in Stockholm, Sweden. How they wound up there, I have no idea seeing as this is some pretty obscure stuff. What you get is two hours of total drone. Even though Kosugi is absent (his electric violin being sorely missed), this is one hell of a performance. I love the other albums, but this one is practically only drone and being the drone-fiend that I am... this album has rapidly become my favorite. There is not much visual aid accompanying the release, but those few images are enough to let my imagination run wild; I try to see myself watching this performance, the artists sitting down on stage with these ancient and not so ancient instruments. Totally alien sounds filling up the space, an air of mystery to the whole thing. Breathtaking!
