Lovely release by the Tower Recordings. Eleven tracks of deeply psychedelic folk which will tempt you to give up all your worldly possessions and go out on the farm and live the simple life... well maybe not simple. Most of these tracks are short and without vocals, so when vocals do come in, they sound bigger than nature. Dionysus Revolving for example, is so fucked up and out there, with it's bizarre female ranting looped over and over again, that it stands out from the rest of the album. The same goes for the long raga jam that is Karuna Blues, this tune will have you hear double until it settles down into a more toned down (but no less psychedelic) folk tune. I believe this was the first release on Child Of Microtones to be released in two different versions: one stereo and one mono. Both are limited to 99 copies with the stereo edition (with colored artwork) being the most sought after. |
