Träd, Gräs Och Stenar
Träd, Gräs Och Stenar was the last incarnation of what began as Pärson Sound back in the mid-sixties. It is also the most rock-oriented version of the group. The guitar might still be completely fuzzed-out, the beat still slow and the jams still long, but the experimental side has given way to their folk inclinations and more progressive elements in their sound. Hendrix has definitely become more of an influence on their sound than Terry Riley at this point. The group also makes use of cover songs, something they had not done previously (except maybe new twists on old folk tunes and excerpts of classical compositions).
I began listening to them after having bought albums from their previous incarnations. I was told this version of the group was just not as good, but after buying Mors Mors and Djungelns lag it was quite obvious they were just as good as they had ever been. I must admit I haven't listened to the recent Ajn Schvajn Draj which was released some twenty years after these first albums and wouldn't know where they stand now and how they compare. If you are already into Pärson Sound, International Harvester and Harvester, why don't you just do yourself a favor and check out Träd, Gräs Och Stenar to. You won't be disappointed.
