This album, along with Red Line, is one of Trans Am's masterpieces. It's so good, I doubt they will ever manage to surpass it's qualities ever again. There is seriously not a single weak track in sight here. Even the opening 1999, an instrumental number featuring high-pitched synths and saxophone sounds great, is amazing. The second it ends, we are propelled into the group's modern twist on the german motorik sound with Television Eyes. Futureworld is also the first album by the band to feature vocals (through a vocoder mind you) on several tracks. City In Flames is without a doubt the heaviest song the group has ever committed to tape. Comparisons to Kraftwerk had been made before, but it's with this release that they truly become apparent, yet Trans Am manage to transform their sound enough to make it unique and absolutely mesmerizing. No true fans of the group should be without this album.
