Trans Am's second album doesn't stray too far from their first. It features tons of thundering guitar riffs and plenty of weird electro fillers to maintain that 70's and 80's retro-fix we all need. The only major difference here is that the trio do seem to want to experiment more with their sound. Some of these tracks are pretty much pure noise! Rough Justice for example plunges into Merzbow territory once you cross the halfway mark (I remember seeing stickers on the CD indicating that there isn't anything wrong on the album). Zero Tolerance is another irritatingly loud track, but once you get past these two, there's plenty more to rejoice for. My absolute favorite song from this album is the addictive Carboforce with it's constantly evolving yet repetitive patterns. Love Commander is another highlight with it's incredible dub vibe. And is it just me or is Illegalize it an early indicator of the group's future commercial leanings on their TA album?
