Album Cover

Everyone praises this album, yet for some reason it's one of my least favorite Trans Am records. I can't really pinpoint why however, but I just don't feel like it holds up to past or even future releases. I get the feeling it includes way too many fillers and not enough of their meatier tracks (or maybe the latter just aren't fulfilling enough). Most of The Surveillance feels very minimalist too these ears. Had it been made by Pan Sonic, I would have tackled it from a much different angle, but seeing as this is Trans Am, I get the feeling as if it's lacking some of that "Umff!" I would get from other albums. That being said, there are still a number of classic tracks to be heard here. The Campaign is one of the more pounding songs here and is well worth investigating. Even Home Security, with it's cheesy synth harpsichord melody is a charming number I often play ad nauseum. This is the only Trans Am record to have been released in a digipack cover.
