This album is the craziest one yet by this trio of Keiji Haino, Kan Mikami and Toshiaki Ishitsuka. On the first track, you get the impression that all three are playing a completely different song and they only rarely play together. The second song is reportedly about japanese cola (for real!). The third track (Monkeys Don't Pray) is even stranger than the first track, Mikami and Haino are clearly playing completely against each other and the clash between them is very disorienting. That also makes it the most interesting track on here. The fourth track, Mandala TOOT (H), is an a cappella chant by all three members. The fifth track sounds like a new attempt at an almost ambient track (like the one on Sichisiki). Not as successful, but still very nice. The last track is played on what sounds like an electric piano, pretty pointless at first, but once the acoustic guitar joins in, were off into a completely different realm. |
