This album is another long track divided into shorter parts. It all starts with Kan Mikami doing african-influenced vocals over tribal drums and Haino yelping once in a while in the background. At three minutes, Haino finally blasts his guitar to the front, going totally nuts, as expected. He is pretty much relentless for the next seven minutes. The second part starts with a strange riff which reminds me of what Jandek might play on his albums. Things then get somewhat jazzy with funky guitar noodling and rough vocals by Mikami. The third part sounds more like a fucked up traditional ceremonial song than what was heard before, the guitar sounds like an ancient instrument and Mikami moans and groans throughout while the drums pound away. For the last part of the track, the guitars are drenched in reverb and would sound almost ambient if it weren't for the drums. Beautiful way to end this outrageous album. |
