Tusgaru starts with a wall-of-sound by Haino on his guitar. He is slowly joined by military-styled drums. Four minutes later, the guitars disappear and the drums fade out. End of part one. Kan Mikami's gentle voice suddenly comes forth, full of passion while soft, clear guitar playing fades in and out in the background. A riff slowly forms as Mikami sings-rants along. Fade-out. End of part two. From out of the dark comes Haino's hardcore guitar attack joined by machine-gun drumming. Mikami's voice hovers over the barrage of noise. End of part three. A funky riff with washes of reverb and Mikami going nuts for five minutes makes up part five. Fade in guitar burps and plunks, drums barely making sense, Mikami, on the brink of crying, joins in later. Suddenly Haino kicks the distortion pedal and all breaks loose again. End of part six. The track ends with a folk tune by Mikami. End of album. |
