Even if you're not interested in cracking the mystery (like me), these audio documents are fascinating as a listening experience on their own. The distorted voices, the bizarre noises that infiltrate the enumeration of numbers, the morse codes, the dirty transmission hiss; it's a noise music aficionado's dream come true. The background story only adds to the recordings effect. I tried listening to this in the dark and trying to fall asleep and it scared me shitless! The box set comes with a thick booklet which tries to shed light on the mystery, but even after reading it, I still didn't feel particularly brighter. End... Of... Message...
