With the second volume in the Geologists & Professional Tourists series, the N&B Research Digest label continue their ongoing mission to bring us bizarre and off-center soundscapes from around the world. The duo of Alexei Borisov and label founder Anton Nikkilä make a few appearances, but there are other well known industrial/noise artists on here as well. Swedish noise-monger Leif Elggren makes a curious appearance with his at times practically silent (and at times not) contribution. Japan's KK Null appears on two tracks (and is accompanied by Borisov on one) and adds his own touch to the thick noise stew. I say noise, but the volume stays pretty low throughout, there are no real brain-damage inducing tracks to speak of (except maybe for the Government Alpha piece), most of the work here falls into the glitch noise category. Great compilation, but for fans of industrial noise mostly.
