One of the best releases in the Pop Ambient series, the 2004 edition includes some of the most pleasant dream-inducing music so far. Logopedie 99 is the best track All has contributed yet in the series and once again Ulf Lohmann offers us his brand of blissful soundscape on the lovely Audrey. Klimek once again opens the album with his Standing On The Beach (Gun In My Hand Mix) (nothing to do with The Cure song!), where a single strummed chord is destroyed and rebuilt into a beautiful ambient work. Damit Du Endlich Weisst, ... by Markus Guentner is slightly inferior to what he usually creates, but it is still a great tune. Donnacha Costello's To Thee This Night (I Will No Requiem Raise) sounds incredibly similar to Labradford when at their dreamiest. Another highlight worth mentioning is Pass Into Silence's Sakura, a very soft song which could easily define what "pop ambient" actually is. |
