Album Cover

This is the album that changed the face of rock music forever and opened the door for all the noise rock bands of today. The sound is raw, distorted and loud, even on more conventional songs like the opening title track. Things get much weirder on the next track, the split channel (base on one side, vocals on the other) The Gift where we follow the sad story of Waldo Jefferson as told by John Cale. Where the album earned it's reputation however is on the second side of the LP. It included I Hear Her Call My Name which has the most insane guitar solo ever to hit wax up until that point in rock history. And as if that wasn't enough, along comes the seventeen minute long Sister Ray; an absolute classic, gloves-on-the-floor attack on the senses. It's so loud and heavy, you can barely call it rock anymore. Very cathartic and engaging throughout. "She's too busy sucking on my ding dong"
