After weeks of trying to get it directly from Mats Gustafsson (the guy behind the release of this album on his Broken Face label along with Digitalis Recordings), canceling the order because of postal complications and ordering it again, I finally owned my own copy of Catonapotato. This is easily their best recording since their early days (up until Volfur). The songs on this album display the same extravagance found on their earliest records. There's plenty of weirdness, electro-buzzes, arrhythmical passages and even eastern-tinged tunes (Lovely Shepherd) to go 'round. I am not sure if Sharp As The Queens Teeth is another version of the similarly titled track from Volnono, they sound nothing alike exact for the title. Probably one of the easier to find releases by the group and a great place to start if you are confused (although this music is likely to confuse you even more).
