Easily one of the most insane (yet absolutely lucid) outings by the bears, Classic Erasmus Fusion is bound to become a cornerstone of the english psychedelic scene. Enough so that I decided to purchase one of the fifteen copies of the deluxe 3LP edition (which also comes with the bonus 7"). With such a massive release (17 songs spread across two LPs), it's incredible that they never slip up. There is not a single boring moment throughout the album. Every single song has a soul and is entirely unique, yet the "Volcano" sound is unmistakable. On tracks like Ong Pâté, some sounds are so alien it's unbelievable these could have been created by humans! It's impossible to isolate highlights with so much powerful music on display, but favorites of mine include The Last Song Of Norway, Did You Ever Feel Like Jesus? and Lifetime. The third LP (on acetate), entitled Live Oval, is music taken from a concert in Norrköping, Sweden back in 2004.
