I didn't think these guys could top their wonderful Classic Erasmus Fusion, but I'll be damned if this one isn't just as good, if not better! Seriously, rare are the bands who seem to have such an inexhaustible source of inspiration and who can continually showcase their talent with no signs of slowing down or wearing thin. From the first second to the last, Amidst The Noise And Twigs is a constant reinvention of all musical conventions, stubbornly defying categorization with each new song. To these ears, this album will stand the test of time and still be highly praised decades from now. From the engaging The Sting Of Haste (which sounds like a medieval middle eastern war song) to the contemplative yet bizarre The Three Twins via my personal favorite She Vang Moon, this album will transport you to far off and strange new worlds with each new listen. Orgasmically strange and unique, this is a guaranteed top ten album for 2008 in my book.
