When I got a chance to first buy some Volcano The Bear material, I hesitated between this release and Volspetor; but even though both records were rare, I still regret not having gotten Volwheat first. This is mostly because the one that was up for grabs on eBay was one with very unique artwork. Maybe I would have bought the easier to find Beta-Lactam Ring Records version of Volseptor later on and forgot about the harder to find first editions. The Volwheat version on eBay had also much nicer artwork than the version I found later one, but what the heck? It's still the same music right? Right? This release is limited to only fifty copies and I sort of understand why. First of all, this is a live recording and the sound is sub par. Second of all, the songs are nowhere as interesting as the music found on other albums. It could pass as a long lost Sun Ra record, but without any of the pizzazz. Somewhat bland.
