Album Cover

Yet another of Volcano The Bear's seemingly numerous live recordings. Xvol finds the groups in a particularly free-jazz mood with plenty of keyboards and wind instruments. The weirdness is still there but it takes a backseat this time around. Only Planetary Bethlehem focuses on the vocal interaction, the rest of the album is mostly instrumental craziness. I have tried to differentiate the versions of Egg Knowledge and Planetary Bethlehem found here, but they are so different from versions found on other records that the task becomes almost impossible. Besides the percussion, Colour Of My Find sounds like a Fursaxa tune complete with accordion. Just like it's sister release Volnono, this release is said to have a handmade version released in addition to the Beta-Lactam Ring Records edition but I have personally never seen these anywhere. Both come in a cheap plastic pocket with black and white artwork.
