Walter Wegmüller
This obscure figure from krautrock history only surfaced for one single, very elaborate album which revolved around a set of tarot cards he had designed. He didn't create any of the music on the record, it was all created and played by many of the krautrock scene's "superstars": Manuel Göttsching of Ash Ra Tempel, Klaus Schulze, members of Wallenstein, Walter Westrupp (one half of the psych-folk duo Witthüser & Westrupp). Add to that the spiritual guidance of famed drug-guru Timothy Leary and you know this is music worthy of being sent into space. Wegmüller's role on the album is that of a narrator (he's certainly not singing on it!).
The only reason I started listening to him is when I found out the album was released on Spalax Music which is responsible for putting out many of the scenes best and most obscure albums. It's even quite difficult for anyone who enjoys Ash Ra Tempel's music not to hear about this particular work.
