I promised myself I would avoid getting all those rarer-than-rare CD-R albums by Wolf Eyes; you know the ones that are limited to 25, 12 or even 3 copies? Well, I decided there was an exception: when they were in town and I could just get anything from the marchandise table! Back To Attack is one of these. Limited to only 21 copies, this set, which includes two CD-Rs and a tape, comes in a box of Honey Nut Cheerios spray-painted and covered with John Olson's usual collage-art. The recordings on the first CD-R are live ones (I believe - I think I hear the crowd at times) and in the same vein as Dread with it's slow, pulsating noises which sound like malfunctioning industrial machinery from hell. The second CD-R is a much creepier harsh noise/drone number without vocals while the tape holds some even darker and borderline noise pieces (with one side being barely audible). You can't go wrong with Wolf Eyes, but this isn't a must have.
