Could an opening track be any heavier!? Well, probably it could, but this one just grabs you by the balls and bashes you on the head 'til you submit! Intense. Wolf Eyes sound so intent on making you Burn Your House Down, repeating and screaming that same phrase over and over again like that little devil-you on your left shoulder usually does. Hard to resist. This track is, of course, the albums pièce de résistance. The rest of the album is very noisy, but it never gets as intense again. Let The Smoke Rise is quite engaging with it's tribal beat. The track listing is also quite confusing. The last track is untitled (a "hidden" track), track four is Let The Smoke Rise and Wretched Dog and Half Animal are grafted at the hip. |
