There's definitely a psychedelic CCR twist to the first track on this album, the second one under the Yahowa 13 name. Father Yod has once again let others stand behind the mic for a change. On Fire In The Sky, for example, the singer sounds like a disturbing new variation on Captain Beefheart-like vocals. Pretty fucked up, but that makes it one of the better tracks on the album. Another highlight would be the last track, Oh Ya Ho Wa, a two-minute long heavy-blues track complete with harmonica soloing. On most of the songs, the guitar sounds pretty thin and insect-like, but that might be due to the horrible sound quality throughout the recording! If you can stand all the static noise, hiss and distortion, it's as good as it's predecessor Yahowa 13. No extra tracks on the CD re-issue this time. |
