Very similar to Young's The Second Dream Of The High-Tension Line Stepdown Transformer From The Four Dreams Of China, but this time using tamburas, this is one of the most minimal recordings I've heard from him (excluding the Drift Studies). He and wife Marian Zazeela play their specially tuned tambura with each artist being heard on his/her own channel. Again, the tuning is precisely calculated in order for the resulting frequencies to create new harmonics as the two are heard together. The changes as the piece progresses are very subtle and difficult to hear, but they are definitely there. The recording, which is an homage to Young's departed guru, Pandit Pran Nath, comes in a double CD jewel case and includes a thick booklet containing extensive notes on the ideas and philosophy behind the recording. This is also the first release on Young's own imprint Just Dreams.
